Canvas Security Incident

We would like to inform you that the Canvas platform is currently operational and services have been restored. However, Canvas by Instructure recently reported a cybersecurity incident that affected multiple institutions using the platform.

According to the information available at this time, Instructure has indicated that they are actively investigating the incident with the support of cybersecurity and forensic specialists. Current reports suggest that the incident may have involved unauthorized access to certain user information associated with Canvas accounts. At this moment, there is no confirmation that passwords or financial information were compromised.

As a precautionary measure, we recommend the following:

• Remain attentive to official university communications regarding this matter.
• Avoid responding to suspicious emails or messages requesting personal information or login credentials.
• Do not click on links or attachments from unknown or unexpected sources.
• Consider updating your password periodically and using strong password practices.

Our institution continues to monitor the situation closely and remains in communication with Canvas/Instructure regarding any additional updates or recommendations.
