1. What are the requirements to apply for the scholarship?

Applicants must complete the information request form available on the International Scholarship Opportunities page. They must also complete the AGMU admission application process and submit all required documentation. AGMU will evaluate all candidates who meet the requirements and are granted admission.


2. Who is eligible to receive the scholarship?

Citizens of a member country of the Organization of American States (OAS), with the exception of citizens and residents of the United States.
Please refer to the list of active member countries.


3. How much time do I have to apply and submit documents?

Our admission process is open year-round, and start dates vary depending on the campus and academic program. Applicants must confirm with a AGMU representative the deadline to complete the process according to their program of interest.


4. What is the scope of the scholarship benefit?

The scholarship provides:

  • A 60% tuition waiver for programs offered in online (distance learning) modality

  • A 50% tuition waiver for on-campus (in-person) programs

  • A one-time, non-renewable stipend of $4,000 USD for the first 25 enrolled candidates

This benefit is awarded only once to help cover costs during the first year of study.


5. What financial responsibilities do I have?

Online (Distance Learning) Programs

  • Cover the remaining 40% of tuition

  • Pay admission fees and additional charges not included in the OAS–UAGM PAEC Scholarship Program

On-Campus (In-Person) Programs

  • Cover the remaining 50% of tuition

  • Cover living expenses (housing, food, transportation, and personal expenses)

  • Visa processing and travel expenses

  • Health insurance

  • Other institutional fees and study-related costs (e.g., books and materials) not covered by the OAS–UAGM PAEC Scholarship Program


6. Do I have any responsibilities or commitments to receive the scholarship?

Yes. Scholarship recipients must:

  • Fulfill the financial responsibilities outlined in Question #5

  • Maintain academic progress in accordance with UAGM academic standards

  • Comply with UAGM rules and policies, as well as the laws of the Commonwealth of Puerto Rico and the United States
