The U.S. Department of Education requires any student who has participated in the Direct Loan Program and is about to graduate, has graduated, is enrolled less than half-time, or has withdrawn from school to complete Exit Counseling.
The purpose of Exit Counseling is to provide students with information about:

  • Their loan servicer and contact information.
  • Borrower rights and responsibilities.
  • The grace period.
  • Loan repayment.
  • Repayment plans.
  • Consequences of delinquency and default.
  • Deferment and forbearance options.
  • Loan consolidation.
  • Loan forgiveness programs.

If you need additional assistance with any of the electronic processes described above, you may visit or contact your campus Financial Aid Office. Financial Aid staff are available to provide guidance and answer questions related to completing Exit Counseling.
