The Metro Orlando campus of Ana G. Méndez University (AGMU) brought together entrepreneurs and professionals who shared the challenges, decisions, and lessons that have shaped their professional journeys.
The panel featured Soraya Morón, Assistant Secretary for Entrepreneurship and Business Development at the Puerto Rico Department of Economic Development and Commerce (DDEC), who outlined available grants, certifications, and resources for small and medium-sized businesses. Additionally, Dr. Rody Rivera Rojas, Executive Director of Enactus, encouraged participants to develop an action plan and take immediate steps, while also identifying common mistakes in the entrepreneurial process.
Joannix Ochart, digital business strategist, highlighted the importance of understanding financial data, maintaining organization, and setting clear goals. Omayra Santiago, educator and entrepreneur, emphasized perseverance, idea development, and delegation as key factors for growth. Melanie Martí, leadership and operations professional, shared her experience of restarting her business in a new city and underscored adaptation as a critical element for sustaining operations.
AGMU extends its appreciation to the Office of Employment Services, which, in collaboration with the School of Business and Enactus, organized this conversation that strengthens the connection between academia and the business sector.
Beyond the success stories, the message was clear: entrepreneurship requires discipline, adaptability, and a clear vision in the face of changing economic conditions.
