Entrance Counseling and the Master Promissory Note (MPN) are designed to help you better understand the student loans you are about to receive. The counseling session typically takes 20 to 30 minutes to complete and covers topics such as:

  • Estimating the cost of your education.
  • Paying for your education.
  • Federal student loans.
  • How much you can borrow.
  • Preparing to repay your loans after your first separation from school.
  • The consequences of failing to repay student loans.

To complete these requirements, you may access the following links, which will direct you to the U.S. Department of Education's StudentAid website:

If you need additional assistance with any of the electronic processes described above, you may visit or contact your campus Financial Aid Office. Financial Aid staff are available to provide guidance and answer questions related to completing Entrance Counseling or the Master Promissory Note (MPN).
