On September 19, 2023 was held the Conversatory: Violence in our Society: do we get used to it or do we prevent it?
This event was organized by the Social Work and Criminal Justice programs of the Metro Orlando Campus, with the presence of excellent professors who have extensive expertise on the subject. We were also joined by Francisco Milian, who is a graduate of our clinical social work program and the author of the book Sick Society or Lifestyle?
Students and faculty contributed ideas and opinions on how to prevent violence in our society.
This past September 19, Ana G Mendez University was present at the City of Orlando activity to celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month. "We Are All, We Are One" was held at the Terrace Gallery at Orlando City Hall. The activity featured art exhibits that exalt Hispanic culture and history.
Recently the renowned artist Pedro Brull visited AGM University at Metro Orlando Campus, for an interview in front of his work "El Josco" which is part of the institution's art collection.
Pedro Brull is being recognized by his hometown of Vega Baja, Puerto Rico with a memoir on his life and work. During the interview, AGM University Chancellor Syndia Nazario, hosted the painter, who expressed his gratitude to AGM University for its support since his arrival in Central Florida two decades ago.
Constitution Day commemorates the signing of the United States Constitution, on September 17, 1787. Educational Institutions receiving Federal Funding (federal grants, federal student loans or federal work study) are required by the US Department of Education, to participate in providing an educational program or activities about the United States Constitution, for its students.
Ana G. Mendez University joins the City of Orlando in its celebration of Hispanic Heritage Month, supporting the city in the events that will be taking place as part of the celebration of our Central Florida Latino community. The City of Orlando conferred an honor to all the organizations - including AGM University Metro Orlando Campus - that have said "presente" for this great celebration of Hispanic culture from September 15 to October 15, 2023.
Last September 8 and 9, AGM University Metro Orlando Campus opened its doors for the Consulate General of Chile in Miami to offer services to the Chilean community of Central Florida. More than 600 people came to the campus to receive services from the Consulate. It was an honor to be able to host the Consul and his team and as always we are at your service to help our Latino community - as we have done for the past two decades as a Hispanic Serving Institution (HSI).

On Saturday, September 9, South Florida Campus faculty and staff attended the Salsa Festival, a cultural event in Miramar, Broward County. It was a great pleasure to be present and to have the opportunity to provide information about our programs to all in attendance - in addition to enjoying the prelude to Hispanic Heritage Month.

Univerisidad Ana G. Méndez (UAGM, Puerto Rico) formalized an agreement with the Orlando Magic to expand the partnership that both organizations have maintained for the past five years from Central Florida to include the Puerto Rican market, a first for any NBA team.
