Ana G. Méndez University System will form part of the USDA Selects 2023 Class of E. Kika de la Garza Fellow, a U.S. Department of Agriculture initiative to promote equity in professional development opportunities, as well as build a more diverse pipeline in public service and the agricultural sector. Professor Syndia Nazario-Cardona, current Acting Chancellor of Ana G. Mendez University, was selected along with 29 representatives from other institutions of higher education that serve Hispanic communities in the Continental United States to participate in this initiative.
They will have the opportunity to learn about national and regional issues, policy development and research, and collaborate with professionals from the Agricultural Research Service (ARS) and the Natural Resources Conservation Service (NRCS) Soil Inspection Center in Lincoln, Nebraska.
We extend our congratulations to Professor Nazario for her selection to be part of this project and we are confident that her participation will be of great benefit in identifying new opportunities for our entire university community.
